Safeguarded Material

To ensure that Scouts and Scouters who may be going through various Order of the Arrow ceremonies in the future do not have their experience lessened or spoiled, some of the material on this page is protected.

The Order of the Arrow, recognizing the attractiveness of the unknown, utilizes the form of mystery. This shall not be interpreted, however, as justifying the withholding of any information regarding the Order from any person legitimately interested in investigating its nature, purpose, or method. Nothing in the Order shall be interpreted as interfering with any member's religious obligation.

If anyone has questions about this policy, or about the Order of the Arrow, they should contact their local Boy Scout Council or Lodge Adviser.

Ordeal Honor Safeguarded Material

Please enter a user name of ordeal . (use all lower case letters, no spaces, no quotes, no punctuation). The password is the Admonition of the Order (again, in all lower case letters, no spaces, no quotes, no punctuation.) If you do not know the Admonition, ask another member, a member of the Ordeal Ceremony team, or your Lodge or Chapter Adviser. If the protected material is a PDF document, you will not be asked for a user name, just the password.

Brotherhood Honor Safeguarded Material

Please enter a user name of brotherhood . (use all lower case letters, no spaces, no quotes, no punctuation). The password is the answer to Allowat's Question in the Brotherhood Ceremony (again, in all lower case letters, no spaces, no quotes, no punctuation). If you do not know the answer, ask another Brotherhood or Vigil member, a member of the Brotherhood Ceremony team, or your Lodge or Chapter Adviser. If the protected material is a PDF document, you will not be asked for a user name, just the password.

Ceremony for the Brotherhood - This is the text and directions for conducting the new Brotherhood Ceremony. This new ceremony is optional through December 31, 2014, and becomes the only official Brotherhood Ceremony starting on January 1, 2015.

Vigil Honor Safeguarded Material

The password is the watchwords of the Vigil (again, in all lower case letters, no spaces, no quotes, no punctuation). If you do not know the watchwords, ask another Vigil member, or a member of the Vigil Ceremony team, or your Lodge or Chapter Adviser. If the protected material is a PDF document, you will not be asked for a user name, just the password.
